PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Author of numerous refereed articles on regionalism, value chains, and enterprises; one video collection on Cuba; and four books on regionalism and Latin American and Caribbean development. Most recent works are on Cuba; the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas; Geopolitics, regionalism, natural resources, and chain mapping, for which she was awarded the Ruy Mauro Marini Prize by CLACSO; and food sustainability and trade regimes in Bolivia.
